Pres. Weah Makes Additional Nominations in Gov't

(Monrovia, Liberia): The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, has made additional nominations in government affecting the Ministry of Health and the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC).

 

On Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Dr. Weah nominated Dr. Gorbee Logan as Assistant Minister for Curative Services at the Ministry of Health and Dr. Lawrence D. Sekajipo as Chairman of the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC).

 

The LERC Chair nominee and 1978 graduate of the University of Liberia holds a doctorate degree in Business Administration and three masters including Master of Law in international taxation services, master of Professional Accountancy and Master in Business Administration.

 

He previously worked as Research Chemist at the Firestone Rubber Plantation and Accountant Manager at Bay Plaza in St. Petersburg in Florida, USA.

 

The Assistant Health Minister nominee, Dr. Gorbee Logan is famous for using anti-HIV/AIDS medication to successfully treat patients suffering or diagnosed with the deadly Ebola Virus. The former Medical Director of Sinoe and Bomi Counties holds a Master degree in Disease Control and Prevention from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He previously served as County Health Officer for Bong and Bomi Counties as well.

 

The nominations are subject to confirmation by the Honorable Liberian Senate.
