President Weah Sympathizes with Ivorians as He Signs Book of Condolence for PM Bakayoko

(Monrovia, Liberia):The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, has described fallen Cote d’Ivoire Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Hamed Bakayoko, as a great leader and a man of peace.

 

At a book of condolence signing ceremony on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 along with his Cabinet, President Weah said the fallen Ivorian statesman would not only be missed by his immediate family, the people and government of Cote d’Ivoire but also people of Mano River Union, ECOWAS, Africa and the world at large. .

 

In a special condolence and solidarity message to Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara, the family of Hamed Bakayoko, and the people of Cote d’Ivoire, Dr. Weah extended his deepest sympathy and prayed that the deceased soul rest in perfect peace.

 

“On behalf of the People and Government of Liberia and in my own name, I extend my deepest sympathy, to Pres. Ouattara, his family and the entire populace of Cote d’Ivoire for the loss of Hamed Bakayoko," Dr. Weah said.

 

Bakayoko was very instrumental in the consolidation of ties amongst the Mano River Union countries since his ascendancy to the post in 2020.
