Monrovia, Liberia - The President of Liberia, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, says the sustenance of peace, security and development of Libera cannot be achieved without the joint cooperation, collaboration and coordination of the people of Liberia and their international partners.

President Weah said the priority of his Government is to raise the standard of living of his people through the creation of jobs, providing better housing and other infrastructural developments for people and communities in need. This, he said, can be achieved with the support of the international community, including the United Nations and other partners.

The Liberian Leader made the assertion on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in his office during a meeting with H.E. Kingsley Opoku Amaning, Acting United Nations Resident Country Coordinator of Liberia.

“Our priority here as a Government is to sustain the peace. With Peace and stability, we will be able, in concert with our partners, to fulfill our flagship agenda, the Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD),” President Weah noted.

He added: “We are prepared and willing to work with you, our development partners for the good of our people.”

For his part, H. E. Amaning commended the President for his level of tolerance and work done in Liberia since his ascendancy to the presidency.

“While I am in Liberia, I will work with you and the people of Liberia on behalf of the United Nations family to help with the implementation of the PAPD,” he said.

The UN Country Resident Coordinator told President Weah he was interested in the decentralization efforts of Government, taking development and capacity building initiatives to all political subdivisions of the country.
