President Weah Leaves for Israel

Monrovia, Liberia - His Excellency, Dr. George Manneh Weah, leads a high-level Liberian delegation today to the state of Israel. The Liberian Leader’s four-day official state visit is in honor of an invitation extended him by the Government and people of Israel.

 

During the visit, President Weah will hold discussions with Israel’s President and Prime Minister Mr. Reuven Rivlin and Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu respectively. The discussions will aim at focusing the creation of investment opportunities in agriculture, health, security and energy sectors by Israelis financiers.

 

President Weah is being accompanied by Ministers Gbehzohngar Findley (Foreign Affairs), Daniel Ziankahn (Defense), Mogana Flomo (Agriculture), Gesler Murray (Mines and Energy), Whilhelmina Jallah (Health), Samuel Tweah (Finance and Development Planning), Eugene Nagbe (Information, Culture and Tourism), and National Investment Commission’s Head, Molewuleh Gray as well as Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee.

 

During the visit, His Excellency Dr. Weah will participate in a traditional and cultural “Tree Planting” ceremony, an historic event for every visiting President or Head of State.

 

While the Liberian Leader is away, Hon. Nathaniel F. McGill, Minister of State for Presidential Affairs will chair the affairs of the Cabinet in close consultation with the Vice President, Madam Jewel Howard-Taylor and via telephone conversation with the President.
