He said the people of Liberia will always remain grateful to President Xi Jinping, the government and the peoples of the People’s Republic of China for their developmental support to Liberia.
President Weah said the construction of the two wings of the Capital Building that host members of the National Legislature was a continued demonstration of China’s support to Liberia, as a result of the strong relationship that exists between the two countries spanning over 40 years.
The Liberian leader called on the leadership of the National Legislature to ensure that the building is properly maintained. He said: “I want to admonish us; it’s not what they give us, but to maintain what has been given to us is what matters.”
