(Monrovia, Liberia):  The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 signed the Book Of Condolence for fallen Electoral District #9 Representative Munah Pelham Youngblood.
 

Rep. Youngblood, a staunch member of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (C

DC), died last month in Accra, Ghana, following a protracted period of sickness.
 

Signing the Book Of Condolence, the President paid homage to the fallen Representative and briefly reflected on her life and his relationship with her.

He said Rep. Youngblood was not just a loyal partisan and fighter of the CDC, but also a family member.
 

When asked what was his last discussion with the fallen lawmaker, the President recalled: "She told me she wanted to go and rest because she had suffered too long. I am sure she is resting with the Lord."
 

The signing event which was characterized by sorrow and lamentations was graced by several officials of government, including House Speaker Bhofal Chambers, Senate Pro Temp  Albert Cheat and many others.
 

During  a visit to the home of the deceased last month, the President described fallen Representative Munah Pelham-Youngblood as a symbol of love, a true revolutionary and astute advocate for justice.
 

Visibly overwhelmed by grief, the Liberian Leader managed to tell the mother of the late lawmaker, Elizabeth S. Pelham, and other family members that the late Munah Pelham-Youngblood would be greatly missed not only by the family and close relatives but also by the nation and the sub-region, as she was selfless to all, and courageous and effective in all she did.
 

The Liberian Leader encouraged the bereaved family to trust and count on God for lasting comfort and peace as they mourn the death of their daughter, sister, mother and role model.
 

Meanwhil, the President has declared five days of national mourning at which time the Liberian flag must be flown at half-mast. 

The late Rep. Youngblood is expected to be laid to rest on August 8, 2020 in Monrovia.
