President Weah Pays Last Respect to Fallen Former UN Secretary General – Kofi Annan

Accra, Ghana: President George Manneh Weah on Thursday, September 13, 2018 paid a one-day official visit to Ghana to attend the funeral of former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan in the Ghanaian capital, Accra.
 

The heavily attended ceremony, which was held at the Accra International Conference Center brought together dozens of African Heads of State and other dignitaries including the current Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
 

The former UN diplomat died on August 18, 2018 at the age of 80 in Bern, Switzerland. Kofi Atta Annan was a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary General of the United Nations from 1997 to 2006.
