Pres. Weah Joins ECOWAS Leaders for 56th Ordinary Session in Abuja

(Abuja, Nigeria): His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Dr. George Manneh Weah On Friday December 20, 2019 arrived in the Nigerian capital, Abuja for the 56th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of States and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

 

President Weah is among dozens of West African Leaders in Abuja for the Session which takes place on Saturday, December 21, 2019.

 

The ECOWAS Leaders, during the one-day session of the regional body, will focus on issues affecting the region including political, economic and action plan for regional security matters as well as sourcing finances among others.

 

Under the chairmanship of Niger’s President, Muhamadou Issoufou, West African Leaders will issue a communique following their day-long deliberation.

 

In a related development, the Liberian Leader will hold a bilateral meeting with H.E. Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

President Weah arrived in Abuja via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. He was met on arrival by Nigeria’s Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu.

 

The Liberian Chief Executive is expected home tomorrow, Saturday December 21, 2019.
