First Lady Donates to Gibraltar School: Says President Weah Never Forgets His Roots

Monrovia, Liberia: First Lady, Clar M. Weah has donated a consignment of school supplies along with two thousand United States Dollars to the Gibraltar Community School in Clara Town, Montserrado County.

First Lady Weah said the donation was her initial contribution in helping to boost the community’s efforts in educating the children amid numerous challenges.
The Liberian First Lady told a huge gathering that she is passionate about improving the overall conditions of the Liberian children and was ready to do anything to see her dream realized.
The donation, including copybooks and other materials, was handed over to the community during an elaborate ceremony marking an official visit of President George M. Weah to the community where he grew up.

While expressing excitement for going along with her husband, Madam Weah said the President remains appreciative and will never forget Gibraltar.
“In life as we progress, it is important to remember or to know where you came from and who you are.

“That’s basically what makes your President (George M. Weah), my husband special because he has not forgotten where he came from,” the First Lady said.
Many prominent individuals are said to have hailed from the slum community but is among the a few if not the only one who, after rising to prominence, has returned to the community in gratitude.
The President’s wife thanked the Gibraltar Community for greatly impacting her husband and welcomed their support to her office.

“I will continue to do my best to service you too make my husband happy and to make the children of Gibraltar happy” she asserted.

The First Lady of the Republic of Liberia was earlier received by the women and other community members, presenting her a gift as a sign of their appreciation and support to her.
Following the program, the first couple spent hours sitting and interacting with community members in Gibraltar.
