“First Lady Weah Is A Partner in Progress” - Mayor Koijee

Monrovia, Liberia - Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee is commending the First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, Clar M. Weah for her continued support to enhancing efforts aimed at keeping Monrovia clean and safe.

Mayor Koijee described the First Lady as a ‘partner in progress’ who he says is dedicated to the City Corporation’s initiatives to enhance sanitation in the capital.

Mayor Koijee thanked the First Lady for the donation, saying it was timely and would beef up the operations of the corporation particularly as the MCC readies to embark on the next face of the cleaning-up campaign.

The Monrovia City Mayor was speaking at the Monrovia City Hall on Tuesday, April 03, 2018, when he received a huge consignment of face masks donated by First Lady, Ambassador Clar M. Weah.

Handing over the items on behalf of the First Lady, the Director of Social Services in the Office of the First Lady, Grace Johnson, said the donation is intended to boost the operations of the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC).

Ms. Johnson expressed the Liberian First Lady’s impression over the level of work being undertaken by MCC, stressing that the donation would enhance such initiative in promoting a clean and healthy environment.

Miss Johnson said the masks will help ensure that MCC workers in the field have the necessary protective gears to do their work.

According to the Office of the First Lady, the donation is in continuation of her support to the campaign to keep Monrovia clean and healthy.

The release quotes Miss Johnson as reaffirming the First Lady’s commitment to continue supporting the MCC in its endeavors to ensure that Monrovia is clean, green and safe.

It can be recalled that The First Lady, in early March this year launched the rebranded ‘First Saturday’ cleaning-up exercise “Weah for Clean City Campaign.”
